I took it down to the wire this year. I was fortunate enough to fill my tag this past Saturday 5/11, second to last day of the season. I usually get an archery tag and then a 4 season tag every year so I can hunt every weekend of the seasons. I didnt end up going the weekend of 3rd season though...
I have a couple spots with huntable populations that i bounce between. Usually end up filling one tag each spring. They are not great populations. If there were much fewer birds I probably wouldnt bother. Ive stopped going to one place I can turkey hunt, just to poor of #'s there anymore.
yes, I've been to that one a few times. Its sort of a fancy vibe to it, some people are dressed up to go. Theres one is west des moines and also altoona.

T_Max, I'm not real big on restaurants, I dont mind getting something good and bringing it home, but if you want a good steak johnnys is delicious, been there a few times for a work outing.
Looks like coralberry/buck brush to me. My property has a lot of it. Forester said it is a good native to have. Produces little red berries. Good cover.
