Buckskins and primitive shelters will mix with high-tech fleece,
Gore-Tex and modern tents and campers at Eastern Platte Muzzleloaders Winter Shoot later this month.

The Feb. 21 and 22 event will be at the group's shooting range on 26 acres of countryside in woods four miles south of Murray.

The winter camp is a free-for-all potluck. Firewood is available but bring your own water, advises Sean McKown, president of the group.

The shoot competition involves novelty targets. Prizes are varieties of meat.

"Bring a pan," McKown said.

For more information, contact McKown at 402-650-7770.

Small world, I just made some wood arrows for Sean McKown that I need to deliver to him. I've heard great things about their shoots.

Thanks guys, We have a great time no matter what the weather, and we tend to eat TOO much. We have some good campfire cooks, we shoot a little bit also.
