Sad thing is that he's posing 20 yds in front of my stand, and when the pic was taken I was over the hill 400yds away crawling through some CRP towards a 10 and 6 that were sparring. Got to 40yds, got up on my knees to draw and got busted by a spike that came up behind me. Really fun hunt.

Doesn't matter what's in the county, it only matters what is in front of your stand. The only way to know is to get some cameras up or start sitting out there.

I just saw a drop tine 160 class buck run across the road in front of me at 11:30am. Open country with does all around. Oh well my tags are filled.

Wow Congrats. At least you didn't have to drag it very far. All my decent bucks on camera are showing up an hour before or after shooting hours. Even doe activity has been only in the 30 minute window before dark.

On this particular farm I see more bucks than does. I always thought that was weird, but that's the way it is. About a mile away I see tons of does and rarely a buck. Now that I look at the pictures a little more I'm positive they're 1 1/2 and have decent horn for their body size. I'll find...

I recently acquired permission to hunt a new farm and have seen lots of spike bucks on it. Most have quite large spikes, one has 8-9" on each side with no splits. Without knowing the exact age of these deer is it possible to know if they're "good potential" 1 1/2 year olds or if they're 2 1/2...

I peed in a naturally existing scrape last week and checked the cam last night. Every doe or yearling spike that came by stood and smelled it a lot. The 3 different 8 points that came in had their head up high in every pic and were only worried about the tree limb overhanging.

They must have been really moving because I have the cam set to take 3 pics at 3 second intervals and the pics 3 and 6 seconds later are just dirt.
