    Farmer brush cleared too much.

Thank you! Yea it is definitely a dream property, with a lot of Potential. I have been thinking bout getting some sun hemp/buckwheat broadcasted here in late june/early to mid July and then come in late august and broadcast grains/soybeans/brassicas/etc and hopefully get something to grow. Then...

    Farmer brush cleared too much.

So, I have a dilemma, this is my first year of ownership and am only in the first 6 months of ownership…. I have attached a couple pictures of my property (160 acres) .. the one photo is “without leafs” on onX… and the other is the most recent from 2021 I believe… Green Shape -20 acres dryland...

    Beans and corn together

Awesome thank you, I dont have much equipment so this is about the only way I will be able to get something done. Ive got a 4wheeler with some black boar attachments (disc, cultipacker) and a sprayer. So trying to figure out how I can maximize efficiency with little equipment.

    Apple/Pear Trees

Has anyone ever tried the Orange snow fence material for fencing them in? I was looking at TSC and this seemed to be a little bit cheaper and more budget friendly than the welded wire fencing.

    Beans and corn together

Sorry for maybe a dumb question (I am just getting into alot of this land/habitat management stuff) but When you say you just disc in the soybeans and milo, does that mean that you are broadcasting the seed with a backpack spreader or something similiar and then coming back over the top with the...

    Cash rent farmer

Talked with the NRCS office as well. they also mentioned that my sodbusting ground will most likely be HEL (highly erodible lands) and that alfalfa would qualify and be a great plant to put on the HEL grounds.

    Cash rent farmer

So I asked my local FSA office about this specifically about what all counts for farming history and they told me that typically perennial plants such as alfalfa, clover, etc do not count towards farming and crop history, but they assured me that in our local office, they do count it. They said...

    Cash rent farmer

At some point if it makes sense, I would enroll it into CRP to maximize the price per acre. But first thing is, I have to get farming/crop history on it so hopefully it can qualify down the road.

    Cash rent farmer

Figured, I would update the situation, Farmer 2 is going to pay full market value for the "established" 20 acres of row crops upon a 4 year lease term due to the life span of alfalfa seed. The 30 acres of pasture land that needs to be converted to start gaining farming history - has some...

    Cash rent farmer

No, I appreciate you taking the time to type and respond in great length, so thank you!!! I had the first conversation today, this farmer has cash rented the last 4 years well below what the lower rates are going for in my area. When I asked him about taking some of the pasure land, which is the...

    Cash rent farmer

When you say your try to be “fair” with them, in what terms are you meaning here? I have a couple conversations this week with a couple guys to 1 hopefully create more row crop and see what that process looks like and 2 just start trying to maximize the land more with habitat bud also food.
