Crazy fast, that set-up is crazy fast... finally a bow that could come close to shooting to 40 on one pin... sounds like you got another ten grains or so to shave off that arrow. Speed kills... none believers in speed compare this set-up, or better yet shoot one of these (outside at various...
Guess we will have to agree to disagree, but I will take my much flatter shooting 350 grain arrow at 330 FPS 84.5 ft./lbs KE over your 79 ft. / lbs KE. - get there straighter, faster and hit harder.
Compelling argument - your figures are correct, but lets figure this back to archery the power in those loads would represent the bow so you have a ton more powder in the 375 H&H, if you were to use the same powder (bow) result would be different right? You would see way less energy in the 270...
Yes I agree but starting at very different points (initial speed out of the bow) this initial difference in the bow give the advantage in KE to the lighter arrow, but as the graphs show the heavier arrow will pass the Lighter arrow in KE over time which equates to distance - so i believe with...
No seems you may have been misinformed once the arrow leaves the bow its all about weight and speed - see the link to the chart I think it will give everyone a great resource for better understanding all of this. You want KE you will go with speed. Your above comment is true ONLY if the speed...
Study it then, it should help u better appreciate Speed as it relates to KE. If not explain why weight is better on whitetails in Iowa...

Yes increased speed offsets the weigh carried, but to a distance because the lighter arrow is shedding speed quicker and in Iowa that distance is outside ethical whitetail range.
Would have to know the set-up to make second assumption check the charts.
lighter arrow does not necessary lose...
Nope you would be wrong...
Momentum is what delivers the KE. Double the speed and you double the Momentum of the arrow, but double the speed you quadruple the KE, so I don't understand a lot of the comments on trading speed for KE - in Iowa it don't matter on whitetails...
KE Example (What...
My opinion is that KE is of little importance here in Iowa hunting whitetail - momentum of a heavier arrow could have an argument with environmental situations such as heavy winds rain etc. but truth be told your heavy arrow will never catch my lighter arrow given any ethical hunting situation...
