Whichever you have the most comfort with, a well placed shot is your goal, above all else. 150 yards in the vitals beats a 12 yard gut shot.

This will be first season in Iowa. I am a basically a meat hunter, though I think I will have enough days in the woods this year to at least be able to let a smaller buck walk. Will be on public land. I put my stand out this past weekend in what should be an ok funnel, but I don't really know...

This is my first year in Iowa, so I don't have much to say that would be educated prose, so I just peruse through and try to get acclimated to things. Came here via, CA, GA, NY, IN, and MI, and I also hunt OH. I am very excited for next Saturday to get here. JK
