Just curious if you remember what that velvet axis measured you pictured above? I've got a trip to Texas in the works and I'm trying to get better at field judging axis, got any tips that help?

Sure looks like the same deer. Only good thing about it being faked, fewer non-residents running to NE Iowa to buy up leases. Can't wait to hear the real story behind this guy.
I think weather always plays an important role in deer movement. Rut has deer moving anyways but anytime the stars can align and we get those perfect scenarios the deer seem to also want to be on the move. Snow during the rut would be icing on the cake.
