I personally know a guy that was hunting this deer hard, he did something like 14 all day sits last season to get a chance at this deer. He put in all the work, spent all the money on food plots and such. He did everything the right way. And to have somebody take it illegally? Ya I have a...
You beat me too it...I know way too many people that own one shotgun and blow the dust off of it once a year for shotgun season. They don't even think about hunting anything else throughout the year. IMO I don't consider these guys hunters. Now granite I know there are some shotgun hunters...
Woah easy...no one is pointing any fingers. This is a message board designed to talk about these things. No one ever said it was 100 percent true or put the hunter down.
I too live in Marion County. I hope this story isn't true. It would be a shame for a deer of that score to be held by the DNR. I just heard the story and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on it.
The story I heard was he shot it a few days before he bought a tag, and started telling people and taking pictures before he ever had a tag or a license. The DNR ended up pulling his phone records.
I remember hearing about this buck and reading about it on here earlier in the season. Heard tonight it was taken by the DNR and the hunter is in some serious trouble. Anyone know anymore about this?
