    Brassicas

I don't think so. If you look at the examples and pictures, he's talking about NOT mixing clover/oats/cereal grains WHEN you are planting brassicas. The OP asked if he could skip the cover crop planting after the brassicas are dead. "Could we not add the spring plot in when we plant the...

    Brassicas

About 3/4 of the way on the 1st page, Paul said this; "I do not reccomend mixes or mixing clover or cereal grains with brassicas, one or the other will dominate, suffucating the other crop." He proceeded to show pics of how the clovers and/or oats would overtake/dominate the brassicas...

    Egyptian Wheat

I've got one particular strip where broadleaves grow like gangbusters and compete with the EW/Sorhgum. The rest is looking great thanks to the Atrazine and pre-prep ground work. The EW/Sorhgum is anywhere from 2-5" right now, planted on Memorial Day. At what point could I spray that problem...

    Egyptian Wheat

I believe Dbltree has used a mix, including some Gly in with the Atrazine if there are some weeds growing. I'm sure he will clarify.

    Miscanthus x Gianteus

What rate of atrazine should I add to a 4-gallon backpack sprayer for a pre-emergent? I had already killed the weeds with gly and disced the planting areas. I saw a post about it a few pages ago but I wasn't clear on the smaller quantity. Thank you very much!

    Switchgrass

In my "larger" 5 acre switchgrass field that I planted last Spring, I've got it surrounded with a few rows of Norway and White Spruces. How cautious do I have to be when spraying around those trees with Gly and Oust this Spring? Should I use that combo or something different? Or should I not...

    Switchgrass

Double check a few pages back if you want, but I was advised to NOT use the Oust XP on the first year. The first year give it the 1-2 qts/acre Gly and 2-4 qts/acre Atrazine. The second year use the 1 qt./acre Gly and 1-2 oz./acre of Oust XP. Always best to measure twice! :)

    Switchgrass

Ok, maybe I had confused that with Gly and Simazine for the Spring? I will get the Oust XP out ASAP though.

    Switchgrass

I've got close to an acre of moist soil that I've burned down with Gly and 2-4DB over a month ago. Last week I brush hogged the area a couple times and am down to stubble now. Am I missing any prep steps or post seeding steps for the next year? *frost seeding this winter *spray gly and...

    Brassicas

Hello - looking for some confirmation on what I believe I'm supposed to do. I'm about to do my first plot rotation from the winter rye mix to the Brassica mix. Last week I brush hogged down the plot, this weekend I spread lime and fertilizer and disced it all up at 1-2". I'm going to put...

    Switchgrass

I do believe it is switchgrass. Go to google.com, select images, and search "how to ID switchgrass". Found some that look exactly like your pics. http://www.jeinc.com/Websites/jeinc/images/seed/wildflowers/Wildflower_Seedling_ID/Upland_Switchgrass_18d.JPG

    Switchgrass

Ok, thank you. Should I just keep it mowed around a foot this year then?

    Switchgrass

Hi Paul - I've got a 5 acre field that was planted to beans last year. I frost seeded switchgrass into it late Winter. And planted mostly spruce and pines this Spring (almost a month ago). I went around and individually covered each one and sprayed Gly and don't want to do that again (slowly...

    Cereal Grains and cover crops

I'm having a hard time finding what (if anything) I should do with the Cereal plot this Spring, until I rotate it to Brassicas later this summer? It looks great right now as others are saying, clovers are coming up great and the Winter Rye looks amazing! I'm just not sure if I should kill off...

    Acorns to Oaks!

Let me forth that and admit that I didn't get the Express Trays first. I'm now cutting apart all my 18 cell trays and the Express Trays are on the way!
