    loading a deer

I'm lucky now that I kill all my deer where I pick them up with the front end loader. Used to hunt pub prop though and we used a cart and a hitch haul. The hitch haul is lower and you line up the cart perpendicular to the vehicle and at either end of the HH. Pretty much give a tug, lean back...

My Best Photo of the Year....Maybe?

Great pictures. Good catch Gladiator. I kept blowing up the last photo and it looks like a barb wire scar to me but maybe someone else has better eyes/resolution.

Great looking rack. Gotta ask, how long are those G2's? The right one looks like a spear!

    MDC Seedling Order Placed!!!

If you have or have a friend with a tractor augur I can highly recommend for planting success & reducing sore backs. We planted several thousand trees a year for several years with planting dibbles and that hurts. With the tractor and augur, every 10 ft the driver hit a hole. It made for a...

    Know when to say when!

Wow, you guys make me feel like I had a banner year. I did kill a nice buck and doe early bow. Nov 4th I tore a tendon in my bow pulling shoulder and last week (two days before IL gun season) I herniated a second disk in my back. I didn't really do anything to hurt myself just bad luck. I...

    Heater Body Suit Question???

Not to hijack but related. I haven't used an HBS but I have used the thermacare heat pads on my shoulders in windy weather down close to zero. Cost is just a couple $ and they keep your shooting muscles loose and can get almost too warm. Also, sticking a handwarmer/toe warmer in your hat...

    New fire arms tax.

I googled and found the following from the Illinois State Rifle Association. It's worth reading but in short the bill is "..old, it's dead, it's not going anywhere, thanks to the vigilance of gun owners across the nation." http://www.isra.org/alerts/SB-2099/ Not that I trust the...

    Snuffer SS

Great heads. Extremely tough, fly well & big blood trails. You hit on the only downside, difficult to sharpen. There is a jig that mounts two flat files at the correct sharpening angle and a similar stropping jig. I think you use jewler's rouge on the strop.

    Farm Aerial

Dark Archer, I think you asked about aerials. Google earth is good and free. Using a slider, you can see property change from 1994 to present (my farm changed a lot). You can also: - advance the picture daylight to dusk for shadows and outlining ridges - exaggerate the altitude change so that...
