I understand why the guy wants to shoot the deer. What I dont understand is why he didnt just shoot them and shut up like everybody else in his situation does. I dont like it but plenty of people do it and get away with it. If and when he gets caught, then make a stink about it.
The way I see it, this guy seems to want to be a martyr, and is risking some cash in order to essentially legalize poaching. I have a feeling that if he succeeds, he will be opening the door for any farmer to shoot whatever they want, whenever they want, by using the same argument. This could potentially result in a very bad situation for deer and deer hunters. It reminds me of that goofy prosecutor in the news a few years back that openly stated he would not prosecute any poachers due to all the car deer accidents. How would you like to be a hunter in that county?
