Hardwood, if you google Allamakee or Clayton counties it will give you the info you are looking for :way: I did this awhile back and can't remember the exact #'s, but remember you are comparing 2 completely different worlds. The terrain up here is night and day different from other parts of the state. We have most of the timber in the whole state and finding a particular buck can be a bit more challenging due to the amount of cover. It truly is Gods country 
Our quotas are usually higher than most counties and we have a high number of hunters, but we also have more deer than most counties. It's a great place to live and great place to hunt! You may have to work a bit harder, but the opprtunities are definitely here :way:
