I always carry my rangefinder but never turn my card in. Wouldn't turn my card in even if rangefinders were legal to use. Just not what it is about for me.
I like to guess the distance then range it then shoot.
Gives me the practice of estimating ranges with instant feed back of knowing how close I was without chasing arrows.
I know too many guys that have left shoots with their confidence in the dumps also. Which can be very hard to recover from.
I don't know if allowing them would boost attendance at shoots.
