So I move here from MI where there's so many sports teams (pro, college, semi pro, etc) that I never could even keep those straight (or really cared). Then I move to Iowa & everyone here is a Lunatic about this college sports stuff. So, I actually just asked my wife this.... "Which is better, state or Iowa, why does anyone care & which do you really root for?". She actually likes this stuff, along with everyone else I know here. While, I admit, I couldn't give 2 craps about any of it. Here's what she said, any truth here????......
"ISU is better, it's more of folks like us: folks studying Agronomy, engineering, natural resources, etc, etc. The folks that go there are the every day guys/gals like us- most are simple small town wholesome folks" "Iowa is a bunch of Lib, Art teaching left wing nuts. All the loud as can be, in your face obnoxious types. Big Liberal school with all the luni-leftists and all their education system being the center of the world & reality mindset. Teaches a whole lot of things that are just pie in the sky wastes of time & students will likely wind up in other left-wing whacko worlds, fields & careers (both do have good things to study though). They will be louder and far more obnoxious than the ISU laid back crowd of folks in general." Etc, etc, etc.
I seriously don't care so I'm really not trying to slam either- I don't give a rip at all. Most folks I know do though & love this stuff. Is there ANY truth to how my wife explained it, even though it's her point of view and she likes ISU better? She had a lot more to say but that's summarizing it.
