I'm thinking of putting a gun safe in my unheated garage. Has anyone had experience doing this?Nope. I've never put a gun safe in your garage.
The temp won't fluctuate that quickly or even that much from one day to the next inside your safe. If you do decide to put it there, be sure to secure it to the floor in some fashion. That's not an item you want to come up missing.
Also, dollar general sells large plastic containers of desiccant (a little smaller than a quart of ice cream). That should be sufficient to keep moisture levels in check.
