Of course they have instincts, but they also are quick learners. Reasonably high pressure shotgun in my area...went out this afternoon for a walk and stalk into the wind. Didn't bother with scent control(stupid) Yes, the wind was strong, but I got blown up from 250 yds by some unexpected downwind does out in an open field. What does that tell ya?
