Western NY, se OH guy who is on many forums with the same GJS4 username.

Hunt IA when i draw around zone 5. Wouldnt surprise me if i lived there in a few years.

Deer hunting and deer land related work are about it for my interests. Got the bug bad and have had it that was for 30+ years.

Skip- Thanks for all that you do, hosting this forum and all of your sharing.

Welcome & enjoy paradise!!! I got the bug super bad around 14 & this illness has mutated some - still have it 32 years later. Love to see it when the kids can catch the same thing & be able to dive in if they love it.
Zone 5 is a great place to live!!!! Life in general - wouldn’t be anywhere else. Ok- Maybe today I would being 95 outside. A good solid 300 days a year- no other place I’d rather be. :)
NY to iowa…. Wise man!!!! Ohio sure is good too though. Could be top shelf for EVERYONE if they made a couple changes to regs.
Good luck this season- should be great!!!!

Well Skip after two years of trying to get my membership approved its happened. LOL

Yessir- I have played from Albia to Ottumwa (which I love that BBQ place next to Dunhams); You're blessed and as I get more ornery toward easterners it seems like a great place for us mutant cervid chasers. 6 years for last years tag.....and I ate it because i want settling. Mature 160 or better....had two bad chances that I elected to pass. Not all NRs are "that guy".

OH is a bait change away from being above IA but i dont think itll ever happen. Little known fact NY has some great deer too......but horrible management and no game law enforcement. There are a few 200s killed in two different areas of the state most years. Most guys would shoot a 110" 2 or 3yo on your side of a fence though.

Better off gong to where the game is played at the level you love and want to grow at.
