I hunt about a 3 square mile area in south central iowa for about 24 years now and the last two yrs have been the worst on #s I've ever seen....we sis get ehd bad 2 yrs ago and that was the main culprit rigjt now...idk for me I like the use of cameras because im a bowhunter and I can take out the biggest/oldest bck i can find and let all the 3.5s walk...to kill anytng ovr 4.5 is pretty rare because there's just to many gun hunters in my area ....I personally think there's to many tags for the amount of deer around...last yr I watched 3 different groups hunt a field that had 3 deer run out....there was prob 10 guys per group.....30 guns anftr 3 deer is way to many....now they all have rifles w scopes and magazines..personally feel there should be a gun tag quota and there needs to be a drawing for gun tags...there were more deer killed in my county this yr than last...its gonna take yrs if we ever want to get #s back if maybe never...especially if we get hit w ehd again
