You guys hoping for Democrat win are nuts. The Dumocrat ideology is off base. Transgenderism, socialism which hasn’t worked around the world, guys in girls sports, a school system that teaches everything but writing, reading, arithmetic, open borders, anti police, anti military, placating our enemies, dei hiring, crushing Christianity, and killing the family unit. That’s for starters. You young dudes need to educate yourselves. Be careful what you wish for.

Two years of billion dollar deficit spending made possible by raiding the surplus fund.
The ESA program is a big driver in the above issue. Education system in general is failing.
A shitty economy. Ranked 5oth right now I believe.
Highest cancer rate in the country.
Poor water quality.
Brain drain and while population technically has grown by small amounts over he last three years more people move out then move in.
State gov has become far to overbearing to home rule of local governments.
Allowing imminent domain to take private property for private industry.

But thankfully I won't see tampons in the men's or one of a handful of boys trying to play girls sports.... I'm against that BTW but it's not something I live in fear of. If you want to be taken seriously please bring something better.

This is Iowa. It's not going to become Minn, IL, California or Colorado. Outside of the Iowa City area we don't have much of that. Lived here my whole life as have my parents and grandparents. I have family all across this state. Their political leanings very greatly but the vast majority of them would say that overall conditions for the average citizen and family in the state of Iowa have got progressively worse.

I'm 53. I remember truth and balance.

So I’ll be the devils advocate. If Democrats get in…cancer rates will be much lower ? Water will be clearer, the economy will be much better …(??)

I question that Iowa is 50th ranking ? What ? Says who …Democrats? Talking points … BS

I think Iowa GDP growth was better than Minnesota. We’ve lost a handful of big companies in Minnesota to high taxation. If any business on the border has a choice they choose (ND, SD, Iowa or Wisconsin).

Education run primarily by liberal Democrats, you can’t blame Education on Republicans. They’ve tried, teachers unions have failed education. I was a teacher for 7 yrs… I saw it first hand .

Iowa has not had buildings burnt to the ground by liberal protesters like Minneapolis… it’s not a weekly embarrassment like Minnesota.

I’d trade you so fast, I’d seriously pay money for that trade . My state taxes are 9.7%, & I think Iowa is under 4%.

Note .. Minnesota budget is in shambles right now , & they lost $19 billion $$ to fake daycares, & other fake entities—mostly Somalian fraud.

I wonder how many NY city residents said that they would never be governed by a communist like Russia, China, North Korea and many others? I wonder how many closet Liberals we have on here that grab their gun or traps taking it all for granted? These Liberals are not your granddad's liberal that he voted for, they are liberals chanting death to America without saying a word.

It can and it will if you vote it that way. You forgot about another half dozen states so far. At 53, you would think you would remember the taxes before Kim Reynolds.

Thank you to the non resident, Hardwood11, for fighting for Iowa!
I remember the taxes. I also remember the services and over all quality of life.....and I grew up in Davenport.

Both sides have MASSIVE problems. The system has been exploited to the point where the same big money controls most of both sides. That's why it feels like things keep getting worse overall. The real problem is us. We have to be waayyy more involved as a society. I know there are some that are, but we need everyone. I'm preaching to myself as well. I never even paid attention until 10 or 12 years ago, and I have only been a tiny bit involved. It's becoming pretty clear that we all need to be involved in a very big way.

The arguing over tribalism is ruining our country. Good policy can be argued on merit. If there is no merit to be argued, then the policy is garbage no matter what letter is next to the reps name that introduced it. If we had more people holding office that had the courage to vote across party lines, maybe we could improve some things.

Before I get accused of being a liberal….I’m an independent voter. I do my own research and vote for whose views most align with my own.

As an outdoorsman and an Iowa State employee, I can’t ignore all that the Iowa republicans have done to make my job worse, and what they’ve done to outdoorsmen in this state.

However I don’t support crazy liberals either. Not a fan of they/them at all.

Id say "your right"

The 2 party system is borderline terrible.

We probably should just start by having the courage to stand for the American citizen and making sure those people holding office are elected by American citizens...then maybe we can improve some things.

And please, don't label me a conservative. I'm an independent voter.

Yep! Unfortunately the 3+ party system that is common in Europe is not great either. France, UK, GER.. 1/3rd or less of the politicians can create a coalition and pass all sorts of weird stuff with little chance of being removed from office.
