    Help with ID what this shrub is?

    Nothing brings out the OCD like sericea. Have owned my farm since 2004 and STILL find new springs of it here and there every year that are spot sprayed.

    Looks like a possible Bebbs oak. white x bur cross The acorns on the tree, if you just laid them out on a table, I think most people would say white oak (Quercus alba)

    I should have a pile of seeds (depending on fruit set/pollination) this fall if anyone wants to try growing some,. The paw paws run thick on some city parks here in KS right off of bike trails for easy access.

    I've seen a pile of paw paw trees here in KS, and I've never seen one browsed. There's tons of seedlings popping up around older more mature trees. The fruit does make some fantastic bread....a lot like banana bread.

    For MO anyways: My understanding is they're looking for more early successional plants. I don't know why they don't just nuke the $hit in strips and be done with it for a couple years then rotate to the other strips in future years....on wait....it''s the implementation of the goverment rules....
