    Your preference for switchgrass seed’

Wondering for those who have tried different types, what’s your best recommendation for seed type. I’m debating real world vs RC big rock for southern Ohio planting. I’ll have access to a drill. Curious for those that side by specific seed types “why” they run what the do?

    RC Big Rock Switchgrass

When will you have it available? 6-8 lbs per acre seems like a big gap, what are you running yourself for cover purposes? If there is no SG in your area do you see it adding to potential bedding cover if it’s bordering food and woods?

    Neighbor pressure and switchgrass ?

Update my plan to combat the neighbor pressure. In the pic, the blue section is going to be 3.5 acres of SG/rc bigrock. The lower section will be 3.5 to 4 acres of beans fenced with a late july broadcast of brassica blend in it. The upper small red rectangle section will be a west wind setup...

    Neighbor pressure and switchgrass ?

Family property, I won't get the green light. It's likely I can do a couple micro locations, say against the plot edges but it will be very minimal. Family likes the pretty open canopy.

    Neighbor pressure and switchgrass ?

In the pic, the white was the proposed SG, if I am able to do a minor cut/girdle project in wooded section above, would you still go with proposed SG?

    Switchgrass

Is it possible to get SG established in plot that currently has standing corn? I was going to leave the corn standing through March for cover purposes. If I am shooting for a mid June drill, what are the steps I need to take leading up to that? Ph is 5.9, do I need to mess with Ph?

    Mock Scrape question.

I tagged out in Ohio last week so back to the drawing board. For those of you that use rope scrape, where do you buy your rope at, I can't stomach buying from a deer related company, 20$ for 2.5 feet.... also is there a preferred rope type? Saw lowes has jute and sisal... Plan on having a...

    Neighbor pressure and switchgrass ?

My cameras went lights out about 2 days before I arrived for my hunt. All doe traffic was at dark or just before, where it was a party daily leading up to the last week of October. The buck traffic became non existent and three of my regulars I had all fall are now gone. I have a sloppy...

Also for you guys that are in baiting states do you have any tricks for corn distribution other than gravity feeder or pile? Disclaimer I hate bait but have to do it due to neighbors. Skip, work your magic and eliminate Ohio baiting! I miss when deer had natural patterns rather than corn pile...
