I would venture 90% of "on the stalk" corn damage I've seen is racoons. Deer are just easier to blame.

I've always seen a big difference in mowed vs standing corn. Will they eat it off the stalk? Some. But it's like a hog slop buffet the first few days after mowing, especially if timed right with weather. The preference is wildly noticeable.

Ahh that makes sense, I see now you said 100%. I would think a lot of PF chapters might still help with mid contract maintenance too. I know our chapter struggles to find local projects to support and would consider it. We don't get a lot of "asks" anymore from locals.

Talk to their local PF chapter! A lot of chapters will cover the extra cost of establishment.

Actually given up. If I mow corn it's after season. This year my cells cams are either solely trespasser patrol and/or set to batch send every 24 hours at midnight. I haven't shot a doe in western IA in 5 years.

I think that's the point here. Many of us on here can self regulate and enjoy the challenge. That would be the extreme minority. The majority have AR straight walls with magazines loaded to the gills, ready to fill every tag in their pocket.
