Similar grain pattern and most people may not be able to tell the difference once stained.

But hickory only provides squirrel food and very little timber value. Usually bought as pallet or mats if big enough
I think it would be very manageable to spot spray if you went dozer route. Prefer a dozer with a ripper that can drop that down and rip lingering roots out as well.
