    Not sure if?

Oh well. It's not a tactic for "big bucks" only , however they DO use them. Just a fun project, nothing more. Everything we see on T.V. had to start somewhere.

    Not sure if?

Sep0667, yes, finding natural spots like these probably gave me the idea to try and make artificial ones. I think I tried the first time about 2009ish and have done it most every year since. It's been a fun project but it's getting to hard to do as the years go by. ( I ain't 50 anymore) lol...

    Not sure if?

I've ever posted this before? Some (MOST) will find this ridiculous but .... Just something I started doing quite a few years ago for fun. The idea was fun but the work involved kinda sucked. I got some small wheat straw bales (guessing) about 12_15 years ago and just for kicks, I wondered if...

I've never done it in switch grass but I've dragged out old Christmas trees into crp and cattails with good success.

    Retrieving game law

I've only got 30 acres in which 90% is devoted as a " sanctuary ". Have spent years, blood, sweat n tears building it. Once summer hits, I do not go into it except to retrieve a deer I've shot. I will let someone trail 50 yards and that ONLY if I'm with, it's a good bloodtrail and they were not...

    Doing an experiment

Had a few boxelder trees blocking my solar panels. Just cut them up and am dragging the tops over by the bird feeder. Lots of fresh buds on the tips. Will take some pics when the deer find them.

    A new record

Yep. even the smaller fawns are in great shape. Have to many deer around this area already and with the new crop of fawns coming, it's gonna blow out the carrying capacity. Shot at a coyote early this morning right down the road .. Will go check later to see iffn I got it.

    A new record

Just looked out my back window. There are 28 deer within about 35 yards. Most I've seen at one time was 24. It's a slug_ fest out there. Lol. They are beating the crap out of each other competing for some wheat.

    Differences in areas

Total bust today. Spent 5 hours walking and didn't find one. Way more snow then I anticipated and the Deracio that we had last summer had the woods looking really messy. Will have to wait till the snow melts and try again. Was fun to get out though.

    Differences in areas

it's amazing how areas/ states can be so much different. supposed to be kinda cold and windy tomorrow here and the ground should be frozen enuff to drive across fields to get to some spots to shed hunt. called a couple landowners to get permission. " have at it". One spot is about 2 miles of...
