If you can get it dry enough to disk and run a sheepsfoot it will help it hold water better too. I did that on one of ours.

How big is your plot? Could you split it or alternate passes? And if you talk to your local seed guys they usually have test plot bags they don’t completely use.

I agree with spraying, it’s much more forgiving. If you do it at the right time you will only kill what you want to kill.

I could kill a lot in a day with a drone if I found the right chemical, I’ve also been using it to kill brome and seed switchgrass.

Has anyone had any luck spraying them aerially?

I did red clover, sweet clover, radishes, and volunteer winter wheat behind a winter wheat crop seeded in late July and went to corn the following year. The yield was significantly better than the rest of the field that didn’t get cover crop.

I agree , I think there should be a bigger emphasis for anything within 120’ of water and less emphasis on whole fields of crp. Our water gets so much chemical and fertilizer in it it’s scary.
