    Who has the best switchgrass?

Found it. Looks like a great blend. Probably priced at a good mark up. Which- if u doing a smaller amount of acres- not a big deal. If doing a larger amount- better buying at bulk. The actual switch blends are great. A lot of cases I do like blends so u do fine on most soil types...

    Actual laws for mineral?

It is subjective & clearly I wouldn’t wanna take chances it’s “too close to where I hunt”. I do still put em out & put em so far off & do cover them. CO could likely weigh in on a particular situation. A subjective part that’s IRRELEVANT to this discussion… if I were a CO…. I’d be writing 0...

    Current state of farming/ag

I’ll keep this generic…. Farming, to SOME extent - is a good illustration of HUMAN NATURE & preparing for what might come ahead. Some do, some don’t. It has these boom & bust cycles that have always existed in some form. It could be related to weather or it could be commodity prices &...

    Alfalfa???

Get a local Blend there from a coop or seed dealer that knows that area, soil type & what does best. Worst case- find your pioneer dealer & they will sell u a bag. U kinda splitting hairs. I’d want a leafy grazing type if u can find a couple options like that.

    An Iowa bait question?

I do a few blends. Anything that looks like this with maybe 30% corn right now is fine. I think I pay like $400 a ton delivered for this. If u wanna do any combination with anilogics blend- u can as well. Gets u some ideas and options.

Thermal Hunting Regulation Ideas, Poaching, all groups- SOLUTIONS!

That’s a great point!! I think we should all work together to ban guns!! I mean maybe a musket at the most. We have the 2nd amendment only for hunting & when they wrote that it’s when muskets were the norm. No guns, no problems!!!! Duh. :). It’s fun to make the whacko’s arguments on...

Do Fruit trees have a place outside of destination plots?

If I wasn’t old and decrepit…. I’d plant 25-50 every year for rest of my life. One year (as some on here would recall) - I did 4,000. So- that retired me. Stupid!!!! Any normal person that’s not an idiot like me… add as many as u can be comfortable with every year & do it in an area u can...

HUNTERS PER SQUARE MILE OF TIMBER & HABITAT ACRE BY STATE…

Ahh…. Lost in translation of typing! ;) :). I was like “this isn’t that complex…… but- I’ll still clarify!” Ha! I’m all over in ks in NE or have been in past. It’s wild how many “15,000 acre chunks” of vast expanses are out there. Same with SD. Like- 5,000-20,000 acre tracts are reasonably...

HUNTERS PER SQUARE MILE OF TIMBER & HABITAT ACRE BY STATE…

I agree with that. But ur missing the huge & main point!!!!!…. -all states have this dynamic!!!!! Most of N Missouri, all of IL, all of IN, Most of Ohio, bottom half of: WI, MN & MI. Bottom half’s of all 3 of those states are way more MIXED idea habitat than we have in our whole state...

HUNTERS PER SQUARE MILE OF TIMBER & HABITAT ACRE BY STATE…

So- take the 640 acres surrounding your farm (size of your farm or where u hunt is irrelevant). Think of all your neighbors WITH SOME TIMBER…. In a 640 area….. how many deer hunters would u guess hunt it through out our 4+ month long season that has 7 deer seasons? I’m in great area and I...

HUNTERS PER SQUARE MILE OF TIMBER & HABITAT ACRE BY STATE…

2.7 hunters per square mile- I haven’t seen an area in the state in 25 years with that few. & I’ve been on farms in every 1 of our 99 or 100 counties in 25 yesrs. Not even close to a farm I have seen with that few people. All those data sets are using the blurred data “across the whole state” -...

HUNTERS PER SQUARE MILE OF TIMBER & HABITAT ACRE BY STATE…

That’s kinda every state now though. Most states have moved to 4-5 months of deer season with at least 5-7 different deer seasons in there. Youth, archery, gun, doe gun seasons, Muzzleloader, etc. No doubt in most states- gun is the big one. & how iowa divides guns up is genius. Time...

HUNTERS PER SQUARE MILE OF TIMBER & HABITAT ACRE BY STATE…

Exactly!!!! How many farms in “warren county” or Guthrie, marion, Clayton, Boone- whatever - any hunters there where u go: this 640 acre section has landowners like a “40, 160, 80, 120, 100 & a 140”….. any scenario I know like that…. It’s usually 3-10 guys hunting each one of those pieces at...
