    Young bucks mounting older buck

Strange, never heard of that kind of behavior before. If the big buck was hunched over, he might have been injured. Either he lost his "package" on a barbed wire fence or joined the LBGQ community?

    Thermal Bow Site

Not a great idea, just gives poachers another tool.

What are you NOT willing to give up? List 1 thing

I agree. I haven't hunted with a gun for 30+ years, started bow hunting with a recurve and custom-made long bow a few years later. Nothing is more rewarding than taking a buck with traditional archery equipment. Once I got my 1st compound trying to cure target panic, I still did not use sights...

A beautiful stud of buck, congrats! Like the wagon blind set-up, I'll have to make one!

    Maybe it's just the picture

Kind of odd, I wouldn't think a snare would have without done that without a major injury but not sure.

Trapping coyotes on frozen creeks & in general, QUESTIONS!!!!

This brings back a memory from 1967; I was trapping for coons and muskrats along a creek. I had a coon set with a #2 double coil spring, when I got to the set the area was torn to shreds and the trap empty. After close inspection the only tracks around were deer and a little bit of deer hair...

    Home made ladder stands

If not done properly it's not worth the aggravation. I hunted a few homemade stands in Canada, nothing but Aspen branches nailed to longer pieces for the ladder leading to a small wooden platform with an old milk crate to sit on! Not the best for sure, I prefer to use ladder stands that I can...

    Merry Christmas!

A late Christmas greeting to the great folks on Iowawhitetail! Of course, my cams were on fire Christmas day late morning and afternoon. Saw 7 different bucks so I went out early this morning, saw 6 does and one decent buck but nothing like yesterday. It isn't over yet so I'm keeping my fingers...

Trapping coyotes on frozen creeks & in general, QUESTIONS!!!!

I tried trapping a couple times with no results. My neighbor has shot 9 in a hollow behind my house with a creek bottom this year. Thermal night hunt, I was surprised he shot that many since I have few pics of them this year with 10 cams out.

    Early rut

Seemed earlier for me as well, I'm anticipating that some early born yearlings will come into heat mid-January and plan to hunt as much as I can since I have a tag burning a hole in my pocket. It isn't over yet!

    Shed bucks

Shot a buck years ago in early December, when I grabbed hit antlers to roll him over one came off in my hand. When I got to a butcher and pulled him out the other antler popped off!
