Just a few thoughts. The cost of land now reflects all the negatives that has been thrown at it. Higher interest rates, a bout with inflation, incomes that haven't caught up with that inflation, low commodity prices, Biden. Don't get that twisted, all of that has had a negative affect on land...

Lots of hearsay out there. That's classic government. Watch what they do and not what they say. Honestly, I would feel bad for the Non res who sells their property without waiting for the absolutes...it may not even come to be. Longshot but with all the chaos they have created now backing off...

I'm not denying this, as I said, I agree on this also. Not necessarily how it came down or the end product. An across the board no party hunting with a doe doe tag only, would have been more beneficial but then again, I don't elevate myself to the "master hunter" status. I agree to this also...

As I said earlier in this thread, I think this is a good move, especially party hunting with only a doe tag. You can't trap with a fishing license. This should hold true for residents also. I don't believe that it's some loophole or gray area, the law was just changed. Probably illegally but...

They need to grow some sacks. With the split in politics, NR vs resident and trophy hunter vs occasional hunter...this has been very calm and collected for a legislative forum.

Not a chance in hell that they'll get them all written in stone. They'll pick and choose. Should we be waiting for a yardage on mineral licks before they consider it baiting? The DNR lives and breaths on stuff like that. A working farm before you get a LO tag? Come on man :)

Instead of tweaking, abolishing and creating laws slanted towards the trophy hunter, we need to keep and create laws for the betterment the herd as a whole and let the chips fall as they may.

Exactly...if you think you are going to do away with party hunting you're pissing in the wind. Wasted energy. I wish they would clean up law and define the non use of cell cams during the season.

Resident or non, no one should be able to hunt either sex on a doe tag. You should be required to have a live or spent any sex tag in your pocket if you're party hunting.

Probably the most realistic idea yet on neutralizing the floating LO tag. It's doubtful it would have much impact but a nudge in the right direction. Most of the laws that you are going to change will need to be walked back incrementally. An example would be a powder charge restriction in late...

Well said OMB. We don't want to throw off the eletest vibe. We don't want to force them to choke on the trophy hunters wooden spoon. Then we become the ones with the conflict of interest and lose our credibility. Encourage, educate and fight the big ones in January.

If landowners or anyone else as far as that goes, would practice what we preach, that would go along way. Don't let the laws determine what we should and shouldn't do, just do what's right for your own property. Self governance...crazy concept. We could do a group burn on one of our tags in...

You'd almost have to get down to one buck tag per hunter, doubt it would fly with the non landowners. You definitely could do away with the LO tags. It would probably be a fight either way...you have my vote though.
