Anyone using a DR walk behind brush mower for timber management?

I'm on my 2nd farm with a POS ford 8n. $2500 bought the tractor, mower and disc. It sits outside everyday looking over my property like a Cane Corso! LMAO

    Any success with this?

I was going with a quart. I figure it has to be hot enough to kill the grass like you said. Maybe I better spot spray with that strength first.:D Or suck it up and get some cleth.

    Liming question

Maybe I'll do half pell and half Ag...get a quicker bump from the pell lime and a longer term fix from the AG lime. Back to back years would probably get me where I need to be. A soil test to confirm. I'll definitely be keeping my eye open for an EZ flow. Thanks for the input!

    Liming question

A total of a little over an acre is all. I've already spread 70 bags of Ag lime by hand on the killed plots for the upcoming planting season to disc in and have no problem doing another 40. The pell lime is more uniform going on with a spreader applied to an existing plot that I won't disc in. I...

    Liming question

All of my plots that I killed last year or failed plots, I've been shaking AG lime bags on but i'm debating if I should use pell lime on my established plots. What are your thoughts? Thanks

    Make Minnesota Iowa again?

Term limits and the integrity of the elections are huge. Trump is working on both. I'm not sure how to enforce an up and up on the elections in states with sanctuary cities where they use illegals for votes, where corruption is passed off for the greater good...for a better America and voting...

    Decatur County Trespasser

No match on a known trespasser that I had running cams in that area but it's a large group from Wisconsin/Michigan so probably more than one side by side. I'd be hitting up Hunter (CO 641-414-2174). Sounds like a group of 12-15 rouge hunters. PM me if you have any more questions.

In more ways than just the lower payment and cost share?

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

Give me your thoughts on this iowaqdm...in a nutshell, the does are producing enough bucks to replace the bucks that are being shot with either 2 or 3 tags. Approximately 3600 extra bucks killed. In a sense, we are trading 3600 button bucks for the 3600 that were killed the previous season. If...

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

This will definitely make it much easier to cull! Thanks for taking the time. I'm going to add this question...The 3600 is all the bucks from the 2nd and 3rd tags from last year, is that a fairly close average as of late?

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

Well worth the 40 pages! Have you played with those numbers minus the counties that don't have much deer population or by county?

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

I want to say you're right and I'd love to learn something new...explain further. Give me all the math, this is interesting! It's important for everyone to have a clear understanding of this.

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

Agreed...goes hand in hand. A push for population should be first and bucks will follow. Daver asked how one buck would help the cause and I did the math. In the event that the population stays down, either by lack of concern by law makers or a continuation of heavy EHD losses, the reality is...
