Me three on the Gallagher recommendation. I have one non-Gallagher that has been fine too, but can't remember the brand. If I were to buy more, I would stick with the Gallagher's.

FWIW, I have lost young trees in years past during droughts and not watering them. My farm is in southern Iowa though, if you are in northern Iowa those few degrees of temps might make a difference. But my advice would be to plan on watering them in the summer.

Don't neglect protecting from mice too. Spoken by someone who is going to replace 2 out of 7 fruit trees planted just last fall. I fenced out the deer, but the mice/rabbits got me and chewed on several trees and girdled two of them to the point that I see no new buds/leaves this spring. Harrumph.
