Ameristep hang on stands and rapid rails

Another corky thing I always do is I buy four tree stands to make three. I take a ladder section from the fourth one and add it to each of the other three. Cannibalize some of the other parts to make extra braces.... It gets the tree stand height up above the normal ladder stand height...

Ameristep hang on stands and rapid rails

Another thing I always do is. Teak screw every ladder piece together. Also lag the ladder braces to the tree and bolt them to the tree stand. I usually add ladder braces so at least two per stand. At the end of the day they seem very solid and most of the cold squeaks are gone.

Ameristep hang on stands and rapid rails

I would say about every 5years.I will reset them. I usually have to use a half inch impact to get the lags out at that point in time. Other trees don't seem to grow up just out. Some have been set for over ten years

2025-2026 Team Contest Teams ( Score Card)

I enjoy seeing the kills on this post.Never really like the pretence of the contest being scored in inches. Kinda goes against everything we preach. ( And yes , I realize it's just for fun and not a big deal) just an idea.I thought may be more in line with dear management.... Would there be...

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

This is much easier said than done. There are so many 130" straight 8s it's very difficult to discern from year to year. When they have certain things that are unique sure but if not lost in the shuffle....

Ameristep hang on stands and rapid rails

I switched to all ladder stands as well. Safer for sure and go up fast. I Also feel better about my kids being in ladder stands as well. Don't hide quite as well however they get it done. Something I started doing years ago is lagging them to the tree with 5" ledger locks. Incredibly stable

    Ramcat broadhead

Wanted to bring this up for anyone interested. Skip recommended the Ramcat Hydroschock combined with a 4mm FMJ arow to me probably over 10 years ago. I took the bait and tried the arow/broadhead setup. Also the gold tip outsert for weight forward and strength. I did get very good flight...

    Iowa law related to disturbance

Been through this type of thing many times. It's a lot easier to catch flies with honey than vinegar. They may be dipshits but if you go to war it never stops! If you can help them with something and become friends they are less likely to try to offend you. If you are enemies , they...

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

All Something that would be very cool is if more of these iowa shows and there's a lot, would show guys targeting Old low scoring deer intentionally..... Then explain why. You see it occasionally , but not very often! Anyone with a cheap camera could do it.!

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

Not sure it would need to be. I think the majority of hunters follow the rules. Not saying 100% however probably more than 75%.... Maybe I'm nieve....

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

Removing cell cams would be as simple as enforcing the law as written. They literally break the no electronic device like raidos to discose the position of wild game to a T. Could not be any more in violation..... I believe they would need no new legislature, just make it known they will be...

High fence opinion in specific example???….

IMO. High fence in IA should not be legal.Im not for big government however it should only be allowed with a permit for special live stock.... None of us like road kill however it's just part of life. Agree with the ultimate greed statement and GAY statement. Also really dislike the TV...

Who’s hiring Superintendents in Des Moines?

The biggest issues here are this is a perfect example of how being racist actually hurts everyone involved. Hiring because one is of a certain rase is racist. How many candidates for this job did not have have a criminal background? How many candidates for this job did not have a weapons...
