    Question on scoring....

Here is the site that I use. On the Boone and Crockett homepage there is also information on becoming an official scorer. http://www.boone-crockett.org/bgRecords/bc_scoring_typwhitetail.asp?area=bgRecords&type=Typical+Whitetail+Deer

    gaining access

For those of you that hunt private land, is the land owned by somebody that you have a connection to or was the landowner/operator a stranger when you first gained access. What "tricks" do you use to gain access to private land?

Will adding an adder piont to my broadhead affect arrow flight if I shoot through my shoot through mesh on my blind?

    Preferred boradheads for turkeys

I was wondering what all you turkey experts prefer to use as far as broadheads for turkeys. Do any of you shoot fixed blades. I shoot thunderheads 100's for deer. Can I use these for turkeys as well?

    Oven Dried Jerky

I noticed in many of the past threads on jerky that most of you use dehydrators. Anybody out there use an oven and if so, I would like some instructions as far as temperature and time etc....

    Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter Rest

Shredder, I use the trophy taker shaky hunter. In my opinion it is the best piece of equipment on my bow. It makes tuning a breeze. And with the shaky hunter, the arrow will not fall off the rest which is nice while in a tree stand. I have placed mole skin on my prongs as well as on my...

What are your favorite off season activities?

I like to shoot, fish, golf, hike and camp. I also try to work out enough to keep the fat off my body so I can really get after those whitetails next fall. Oh yeah, and I second the Rocky Mountain Frosties, those are my favorite.

    Archers Poll

I shoot a Ben Pearson Spoiler Lite with Gold Tip carbons and 100 grain Thunderheads. Since I put the trophy taker on there, she shoots like a dream!

So what was the best time to be in the woods this

I definitely saw the best bucks from October 25 Through Nov. 7th. Where I hunt the buck to doe ratio is way out of whack so when they actually start breeding, they are not moving too much. They don't have to go far to find a doe in estrous when the time is right. In my book, chase phase=prime...

    Sit or Stand

Here is another tree stand question. Do you guys sit or stand while aboard a tree stand. Standing seems to accommodate the best shooting position however; it does get a little uncomfortable.

    Tree Stand Height

Just wondering. What is the typical height at which you guys hang your stands. I have noticed on hunting shows that it seems those guys get away with a lot more movement than I do. They don't seem very careful as to when they draw etc... I usually get between 15-18 feet. How high does...

    Broadheads for Turkeys

I have no experience hunting turkeys with my bow. My father-in-law has hunted the last two seasons and has solidly hit two turkeys but was unable to recover either of them. It is frustrating him to the point that he is hesitant to hunt them with a bow. He has had complete pass throughs on...

    Iowa Outfitters???

As a non-res I have become addicted to this site. Seeing the success that you guys have on consistently taking trophys has sparked my interest in hunting in Iowa. I was wondering if anybody was aware of a good outfitter there in Iowa. Also what are the other options for non-residents. What...

    drop away rests

Last year i had a terrible time getting my broadheads to fly true. I worked extensively trying to get my bow papertune. I simply couldn't get a bullet hole. I bought a trophy taker and had the bow shooting bullet holes through paper in a matter of minutes. Since then, I shoot thunderheads...
