    Field peas

I agree, I think that if I were going to plant peas in the spring I would do them alone, but if I wanted them for a fall food plot I would plant in mid August with a mix of Winter Wheat and Rye. The following summer (July) I would then disk under the WW and Rye and broadcast a mix of Brassicas...

    Timber Care Question

dbltree, You can if you like, but we usually try to keep all participants well hydrated. I'll see if I can get Rob to post some before, during and after pictures of some of our burns. He's much better at documenting that than I am.

    Timber Care Question

We have burned different parts of our timber over the last 3 yrs. The biggest timber burn being around 20 ac. at one time. We have deffinately seen positive results from our burns, not only does it promote new growth of the native forbes (which the deer really love and need) but, it also really...

    My latest BOBCAT photo

Nice picture. Here's one we got a picture of recently. We found a dead doe after rifle season and set the camera over it to see what was feeding on it. We have also seen them several times the past couple of years.

    2021 bill

Ironwood would probably know, but the rumor I heard was that this bill is sponsored by the Iowa Realtors Association, and that they have a good sum of money to help get it pushed through. Just what I heard, but seems to make some sense, they might have the most to gain.

    CRP regulations

Another thing to consider is that most counties are getting a little more strict about requiring a survey when a new parcel is created, this could be a hidden cost you are not recognizing. FYI, a chain is 66' even.

    good start

Considering the weather conditions it does'nt look too bad. Our Brassicas, Winter Wheat/Austrian Peas and clover plots are starting to show effects of lack of moisture. We really need some rain in the next week or may have to look at replanting.

This buck likes to get rid of his velvet early. Notice the dates, 8-26-05 & 8-28-04. We've had several pictures lately but this is the only hatd horn. We also have this bucks sheds from last year, around 140". We need to get some more pictures of him, but right now I think he is still...

Hey, don't nock it 'till you've tried it. I grew up in UPSTATE NY and still have lots of friends and family there, there's a big difference between UPSTATE and NY City. Which base are you headed for? If it's upstate give it a chance, NY has lots of hunting and fishing oppurtunities. Good Luck...

    Post Your Best!

Here's one I got several pictures of last year. The best part is that a friend picked up both sheds, so he's still kickin'. I think he's a young buck so he should be even better this year.
