Get some oats (can get feed oats from Theisens or a place like that). Scatter them the first week or two of September. They will stay green till at least the first hard frost. Easy to grow and cheap.
A couple years ago we planted 86 day corn on July 17th. We also planted beans the same day. We did it so late because the field had flooded prior so we gave it a shot. The growing conditions were perfect following planting. The corn ended up with real nice ears. The beans did set pods, but...
We're currently on vacation in Florida and the condo we rented gets the Pursuit Channel. We don't get this channel at home, so I'm wondering if there is any good programming I should watch out for? Pretty much all I've seen so far is a bunch of wanna-be's shooting young/dink deer and bear...
We got a bigger one and just don't use this one anymore.
I paid $500 and will let it go for the same.
Disc is located in Center Point Iowa.
We have a loader on the tractor at the farm so can set it on a trailer.

Oil/fracking stocks. CHK dropped to a low of $1.50 back in Feb. Just looked and it is trading at $6.12 today. A lucky buyer could have quadrupled their investment in just 2 months. Too bad I bought it last year....
Oil seems to be on it way back up. If you could actually hit one of these...
Just saw a small cultipacker posted on the Cedar Rapids Craigslist today. $200 and in Strawberry Point. Search on 'Roller Packer'. figure someone here may be interested.
Mineral sites do attract/bait deer. We don't also need dates on when what type of baits can be used and further confusion on where they can be used. I'm sure there are or would be 'minerals' that attract very effectively year round. Just don't put minerals where u would put bait. Keep it...
So does anyone know why they introduced the requirement several years back that the tag has to be attached to the antler? I wonder if the concern is it can be slipped off a leg and placed on another deer leg?
An example of a coyote having an indirect positive effect on the pheasant population.
I care more about the impacts on the deer population vs. pheasant though.
Cool deer!
We had one on the farm a couple years ago that could have been his twin. It was an 8 point with matching flyers coming off both G2s in the same place as yours. We called him 'Ape-hangers'. I attached a pic (at least I hope I did...)
Congrats!
I never call at a buck that is with a doe. My reasoning is he is not going to leave her, and I think it lessens the chance of her bringing him past if she hears another buck (I doubt she would want the additional attention). I let things play out and hope she eventually brings him past.
