    Need your help

Chris, I am packing up right now. My Outback won't fit in the SKB case I have so I am bringing you an Ultra 2 to use. I also have a Q2XL at the house and you are more than welcome to use that. I have a shorter draw cam that I will bring and we can swap it out at Winke's. You can't have my...

    WINKE SUIT TESTS

Well, I have been waiting to post on this issue. I have worn the Winke Suit on a Mule Deer hunt in CO and now for 3 weeks in Iowa. Does it work? The answer is yes. Is it foolproof? No, nothing is in the world of the whitetail. There is no silver bullet. First thing is to keep the suit...

    What's your 3-D Set-up

It has been over 5 years since I shot any competitive 3-D. I'd like to get back into it. I was hoping a few of you guys could bring me up to speed with the current bows, arrows, rests, speeds, etc. Basically, what is your equipment list. I shot a moveable scope in the ASA format when I did...

    BOW DURING GUN SEASON

BW: I too am a "could care less about a shotgun" bowhunter. Your post is absolutely correct. By the time gun season comes around I need a break. This is a time when I try and target that damn ALPHA doe who busts me in the tree during bow season. I get more pleasure out of shooting her than...

    topographical maps

I have made some nice aerial photos of my farms with mytopo.com. They are relatively inexpensive (16 dollars delivered) and you can order them folded or glossy. I get one of each. I carry the folded one while I scout and keep the glossy on the wall.

    What's IA hunters feelings?

You guys make good points about non-residents buying land here and paying taxes, etc. What about the folks on Welfare. They don't pay taxes, they don't work, they live in this state and are considered by many a burden. Should they be allowed a deer tag? Some guy buys land from out of...

    Storing your bow

I only shoot one bow for deer. I have a matched bow that I shoot for other critters. After deer season I coat the string with a good wax. Then I take a majority of weight off of the limbs. I never hang my bow from the idler wheel or cam. I find an out of the way place and lay the bow on the...

Some advice for a young buck?

Hi Whiskey: I graduated from Palmer in 1992. I used to go down to Moline. There was a bow shop by the movie theatre. I forgot the name of the shop but they had a good selection of bows and equipment. I was there last summer and the guys are pretty good. They won't tell you of any good...

    Hunting the World ?!?!?

I think throat patch is right. Timberghost ranch must be a fenced in ranch. Most of those ranches allow you to shoot whatever weapon you want.

Knight TK 2000 Shotgun for Turkeys

Has anyone shot a turkey with the Knight muzzleloader? I just won a TK 2000 at a banquet. I'm really not into Muzzleloading so any advice would be appreciated. [This message has been edited by Hobart (edited 03-10-2002).]

    Trespassers!

A good friend of mine in LoVilla, IA, named Gary Kelderman has rigged up some cameras that work real well. He has shown me pictures of guys in front of his stands. There is no flash so the people don't even know that their picture is being taken. He brings them to the Sherrif and they get a...
