I've left my release at home but last week took the cake. Had some days off from work and got all the way down to the farm around the Pella/Otley area. Driving from Des Moines. Got all dressed, reached in my pocket and no wallet which contained my tag.......urgh! So after a nice drive back to...
Hey All. I stuck a really nice 8 this morning at about 10:15. It was an awkward shot, but it was the only way to get it off before he was gone. I shot and hit high. I feel like it was just under the spine so not really good, but it was down the hill so I figured it would have came out the other...
I use the Nikon Prostaff 550. I've had it for 2 yrs with no complaints. It doesn't have some of the features that the more expensive ones have, but for bow/muzzy I would say it would work great.
I'm with the others. Prepare for the worst and bring layers. Last year I hunted in the rain and the year before it was waist deep drifts and windchill!

I read the article the other day and the guy is definitely way out of touch. (He is originally from San Fransisco, which explains a lot) The best part is, he is a professor of journalism and if you look closely at the article it has many typos in it, and his facts are wrong. You would think he...
I would agree with the others, the food source especially if it gets real cold is great. Downside is lots of eyes on you. The pm hunts worked well for me last year. I took my buck last year the first week of January. It gets a little colder and can be different shooting with lots of heavy...
Hey guys, just read this article and I think that most of the folks on here would agree that this would be a good thing to go through. If our carry permits would work in all other states that offer permits it would save a lot of confusion, and allow you to carry when you travel.
Just figured...
Sitting on the ground works just have to be concealed and extra careful about movement and wind. I did it about 2 weeks ago and had a nice buck stand broadside at 25yds for about 5 min. Wasn't a shooter or he would have gotten slammed. It is a little different shooting from a kneeling or sitting...
Video is awesome and the buck.....what can I even say! Way to put in the work and have it pay off, contrats! And kudos for thanking the landowner too, shows that not all hunters have lost manners!
