    The Missing Buck

Is been awhile since I could sit down for awhile and go thru all of the the things everyone has been doing. My life recently has been a zoo due to the wife working late when Im not, wrestling practice, and preparing for winter, not to mention travelling for the last 4 weekends to hunt. Its...

I call this buck RJ. I dont think hes ready yet, but hes got a big gut... What you think? Pics arent the greatest. A small buck moved the camera to the right, turning the pics away from the trail opening. And then this guy. He looks fully mature to me. Just not huge headgear. Cool...

    Iowa Jackrabbit Study

I see a couple around my place regularly (Grundy County). I see them around 11 pm on a gravel road near my house and when the crops are out they are out in the daylight. There are usually 3 or 4 in the field directly next to where I see them on the road. They almost look like a coyote way out...

    Age this buck

Even though he has a ragged coat and wispy muscle tone, I think he is young. An old deer has a foot pad that is worn down, making it walk more on its 'heel'. He appears to be standing on young feet.

    Help, deer tracks

I agree with dannyboy. I think you will find that killing ANY mature deer is a rush that is tough to beat. If you set the bar low you will be just as happy with a nice doe especially if you plan on hunting with archery tackle. JMHO. GOOD LUCK!!!

    Replicas or skin mounts?

I've been told freeze drying is the way to go but I have personally never made a side by side comparison.
