November 16th Success - Season Over?????

This morning I ended my season at 7:45. At about 7:20 I did about a 30 second rattling sequence. A few minutes later I had a mature 5x half racker come through one of my shooting lanes. I obviously let him walk and thought to myself why couldn't he have had both sides. He went to a draw to...

    Troubles with Scent Blocker

This must be a random problem. I have had scent blocker for the past 3 years and haven't noticed anything like that at all. I have recently just purchased the scent blocker 3-D leafy suit and so far I haven't noticed anything. I do feel that they make a big difference and I feel more...

    The Cats out

I want to clear the air on this post. When BJ says that he sold his Mathews bow today I think what he meant to say was that I sold his bow today. Being an owner of a Mathews Legacy myself, I wanted to make sure that the bow went to someone who was a real hunter, and not just a cardboard...

    Best Carbon Shafts for Hunting?

I agree with Muddy and Deadeye Goldtips are a great choice. Very durable and straight shooting.

    Rumor about the Lovstuen buck???

Old Buck, Well said. The trouble is that there were a lot of rumors that were being passed around by some CO that talked to other CO's close to the action. I say congratulations to Tony on shooting the buck. I remember when I heard about the buck I told some people that I would be happy to...

    Scored Yesterday

Yesterday morning I went to my stand and didn't really like the way the wind was, decided at 7:30 to switch stands. I had to drive about 3 miles to the north side of the property and got settled in the second stand at 8:10. Five minutes later three does brought a big heavy ten pointer by my...

    What would you have done?

Well I will throw my two cents worth into the mix. I totally disagree with anyone who says it is a bad idea to take a practice shot out of your stand. I do not care how much you practice at home, the surroundings change and it is a great idea to become comfortable with any shot you might get...

    Albia News

Well since I have read a bunch of stuff regarding the Albia buck I will throw in what I heard today. I will start by saying that this information was passed along by a DNR officer. The story is that the father of the boy who shot the deer and 3 other men made a pack that no matter who took the...

    Hunting mornings in early October?

I agree with Old Buck completely. I never hunt the mornings before late October and I try to hunt just the fringes in the evenings before that if I happen to get a cool day that I just can't stand not being in the stand. Good luck and be safe.

    A Nebraska Buck

He is a very nice buck. I would guess that he is in the 140 - 145" range. Doesn't look like he has a lot of deductions. It won't be long now before you can go after him. Good luck and keep us posted...great picture. Must_Hunt
