I thought I heard that they were protected now?? Maybe not...
While were on the subject I've got a great example of how wild stories get started....
"Rumor" has is that a farmer near Humbolt shot and killed a Mt. Lion as it was chasing his cattle. He buried the animal and several days later...
I had a 120-130 Inch 8pt come in to the can from about 70 yards on Sunday night...I could hear him tearing up a small tree/bush but couldn't see him. I turned the can over once and he came right in. I have used it several other times with no results as well. I guess I have yet to see a...
A non hunting friend of mine spotted a nice twelve point buck that he described as the biggest rack he'd ever seen. He saw the buck about 9 AM this morning traveling along a dredge ditch across a road and along a fence into the middle of the section where he bedded down in a grass waterway (he...
G6,
To be honest with ya, I thought he was a smaller buck I had seen a couple of nights earlier about the same time. It was dark enough that I couldn't see his rack until he was right on top of me....and I was a little in-decisive as well...I'm going back tomorrow night and I guess we will see...
Cornfed-
I think you may be right, the more I think about it ... my scent control should be very good and I think he just caught me drawing. I really can't move my stand, I am sitting in a group of ten trees in a narrow section of old pasture between two patches of national preserve timber...
I alerted a nice 8pt to my presence this evening right at dark. I was drawing on him when he caught my scent (I think) and them looked up and saw my movement. He bolted about twenty yards and started blowing...loud. He would run several yards stop and do it again. He did it about three...
I had to work late one night this week...On my way home at about 1.30 AM I almost hit a very nice 10pt buck on a city street in downtown Algona. They must be lookin' really hard for those does
I've been hunting a scrape line for the last couple of days...I had several does feed into the field in front of me last night, they kept looking over their shoulders and sure enough about five minutes later three bucks came out behind them - two tall six pointers and a 130 class Eight...they...

Just looking for opinions on a new treestand...
I hunt mostly in north central Iowa along a river in thick timber. I would kinda like a climber but I am concerned about finding trees it will work well in. Is this a big problem for anyone???? Any suggestions on models and such would be great...
This show is right out of PETA or other terrorist group similar to them.....
The plot of the program is several friends trying to talk another out of going bowhunting and instead taking a camera to the woods...the young female hunter goes on to wound a doe, with a fawn close behind of course...
Does anyone else out there have the Discovery-Kids channel. If so turn it on now, Tues. from 5:30 to 6:00....They are airing one of the most anti-hunting childrens programs I have ever seen. More to follow for those who don't get the channel....
