I dont know maybe i'm spoiled but Id rather field dress a deer in my t-shirt in my garage with plenty of lights and a bucket of hot water handy than -10F below wind chill in the middle of a field at dark.:drink2:
Of course, getting them from the field to my house is probably a little easier...
My other advice, is check the stomach contents of any deer you shoot. I typically field dress a deer at home in my garage. After im done field dressing and skinning the deer, I take the stomach contents and pour into a bucket of hot water stir around then dump out on the ground and see what...
Some men like Blondes, some like Brunettes, some go for the juggies, others like long legs, but we all like women! Supermodels are great if that one in a lifetime pops up, but I gotta have my meat and potatoes!
I wacked a big doe out in a corn field last night. Winds were brutal. Deer were in the field earlier than usual. Spoted some nice bucks too. Shot my doe and the other deer ran, but wind was in my favor and they couldnt spot me. They went right back to eating. I started draging the deer out of...
My feet and hands always get cold before anything else. I put those chemical warming packs in my gloves and on top of my toes in my boots and that seems to do the trick.
I picked up a camelback 48oz drink holding backpack this year. I always drink alot when im out and bottled water is to...
My math...
collisions: 803-726 = 77.
herd population: 630,000 - 450,000 = 180,000
Reducing the herd by 180,000 just to get 77 less collisions just doesnt seem worth it to me. Crop damage maybe. Seems to me maybe the DNR could just tack $2 to the price of every tag sold that could go to a fund...

I saw this ghostblind on a hunting show on Versus and thought it was really cool
If you had the bottom 12" blaze orange, would that make it legal? I could see the blaze orange looking like a log across the bottom.
I agree. Any one hunter shooting more than say 10 does a season seems excessive to me. Maybe the DNR should institute a cap on how many tags one person can buy.
If you are giving the meat to family or friends I'll accept that, but dont shoot deer just to donate it to HUSH. Deer are a...
I butcher and eat every deer I shoot. I typically need about 6 deer to make it through the year as I give some of the meat to the landowner who allows me to hunt. I question why some hunters shoot deer and just donate them to H.U.S.H. I say if you are not going to eat the deer dont shoot it...
Yesterday I saw a doe and 2 fawns. They were bed down next to a cement barrier under some trees along I-380 in Cedar Rapids near the 29th Street Exit. Deer know where they are safe in residential areas and areas we cannot hunt.
Deer crossing the road to get from their bed down site to food...
