Hey, I posted mine already. Here's another one of them hanging in the garage to help this thread have at least one pic. I shot both of these within the first hour opening day Shotgun 2. Out on public ground by myself. In UFC fights, thats an opening bell knockout! Now I have to wait until...
I finally got a chance to field test these slugs this weekend (first day of shotgun season 2). I shot 2 deer. First deer was a big doe, at about 100 yards. She was looking at me between 2 trees. It was a narrow shot but I took it and got her in the neck. The slug traveled on the top of back...

I nailed this Doe at 8am of opening day of Shotgun season 2. There were 3 little does with her so I'm guessing she had triplets. After I shot momma everyone else just stood around waiting, so thats when I shot on of the little ones. Turned out to be a button buck. Filled my tags...
I just talked with one of my local gun hunters who hunted first season and I asked him how first season was around here and he said the deer were "few and far between".
Re: Need you help/opinion.
wallet sized tags would definelty be a plus!!
I use to do programming for a local greenhouse. Designed software to let them print their own pot tags that went in the plants and slip on tags that went around trees. Almost like zip ties. The sticky tags are fine.
The only hunts I hate are ones where I don't see any deer.
I can't imagine what it would be like to have some many that you can pick and choose which ones you want to shoot at. That would be amazing.
I saw a 8 point buck down south that had broken off the right half of his rack. I didn't take a shot at him as it was November Antlerless. I talked to one of the locals about it and he said something like "if the other antler got blown off then he wouldnt legally be an antlered deer".
Since...
sureshot, this is the exact situation in my area also. Big private no hunting land next to I-380 out in Toddville. Then the Wikiup Hill Preserve down by the Nuke Plant. Both havens to deer that can't be harvested.
Ive got a Wildview Xtreme 4 trailcam. It takes 4 C batteries. I used brand new Duracell coppertops and they only lasted 2 days and took 11 pictures..... Bummer.
This is my third year deer hunting. I hunt mostly public land in Linn County. I don't use a bow, I'm a gun man, for those of you who aren't ex Military like I am, this video should explain why we like our guns so much:

Re: 2Fitty Stew
My wife is mexican she cooks all kinds of weird spicy stuff. I don't eat none of it!!! I have tried deer sticks with halepeno and cheese and those were great. But otherwise no spicy for me please. Ha, I know, why did I marry Mexican.. LOL.
Dang, I thought that was a picture of me until I saw the ciggarrete in the guys hand.
Anybody wants to learn how to program let me know, we have a job opening at work. Great pay and benefits!!
Re: 2Fitty Stew
Next thing you know, he'll be wanting to put together a IWT cookbook
One of your ingredients resembles what my wife has growing in our greenhouse.
