I have been using a very similar rotation as Dbltree for a number of years and ony fertilize when planting brassicas because of their high nitrogen needs and have had great success without ever having a food plot fail.

These pictures were from 2 years ago. Both these mature bucks hit the mock scrape several hous after I peed in it.

Started a new mock scrape last week. Had a bunch of free scent [P@@ jug] from sitting in a blind with son while bear hunting so I figured I would put it to good use. It only took 7 hours for the 1st buck to show up. The Big Bear checked it out also.

Nothing big but some solid young bucks.

I would second the rye and oats. You could throw some Peas in for added attraction.
