    Finally got him back!

Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't looking for any special praises, although they are appreciated. Just wanted to share the story/animal to those who I thought would appreciate it. The form is a McKenzie 9800 series Brinck's Taxidermy in Omaha did the work. He REALLY has some awesome work in...

    Finally got him back!

After a long wait I got my muzzy buck back. He is my biggest ever and probably won't ever top him (and that is ok). I am very blessed to harvest an animal like this, even shot him while I was sitting on the ground at 35 yards. You talk about heart attack:D. Whether you believe in God or not...

Very nice, it's good to see some returners from last year. It also looks like bud and his buddy have similar genes.

    Pott County Buck with MASS!

BB, Very nice buck! It is good to see a good deer from our neck of the woods. I am in Mills Co. To help you compare, I was fortunate to harvest a buck in 08 with some nice palmation too! I got him in the hills south of you.

    The One that got away

On a late season ML hunt in IL a few years ago, I had the biggest typical I have ever had on me in close range. He was feeding in a turnip plot we plated that Fall. I watched him feed, waiting for good light (legal) @ 70 yards. The time came, I squeezed off a shot, smoked filled the air, he ran...

    Pedistal Mount

I don't have any full length pics handy, but these may give you an idea. One of them is made with old barn wood and the other is made with red cedar. The barn wood one has a wider base and narrower top. The cedar one is a square all the way up. The forms now a days come with two 1/2" rods in...

That is a dandy! Congrats, you must be proud. Based on pic alone, that is one of the nicest mounts I've seen in a while. If you don't mind disclosing, how much did it cost you. Thanks!

    Bushnell Trophy Cam Issues

Darkarcher, I have had same problems with mine. I am on my second one and they are both garbage in my book. They have been to the company in KS. I won't buy anything Bushnell again, bad experiences w/rangefinder and scope to add to the list. Just my thoughts from my experience.

So what did you learn this year?

Great post! Things I will make a second (or more) motion: -There are a lot of shed bucks harvested during late season, despite what is reported (I believe) -The season rarely goes as planned Things I've learned: -Never forget your grunt call, called in my biggest in Dec -Don't always count on...
