This was my week to spend some time in the timber. I work two jobs and it is very hard to get both off at the same time. I had to forecast the time off 6 months in advance. The first week of Nov has been pretty good to me in the past.
Let's just say that I have been pulled 20 different ways...
Finally did see some rutting activity. Had two bucks come in to rattling @ 7 AM, passed on one that was borderline. I shot another borderline 8 pointer @ 8 AM. I also seen a buck chase a doe for the first time this year. Things finally picked up for me. Good luck to all!
Well, this is the week I put aside to enjoy the outdoors. I was blessed with a nice doe on Mon evening. I've had every (almost) household problem that could come up, has. I haven't seen any rutting activity at all. All the cameras are picking up nighttime movement only. The only movement I've...
I have only been out a few of times this year for an hour or two and was wondering what the latest sightings are? Daylight movement? More morning or afternoon? I imagine the scrapes are opening open well with new rubs? Are the picked fields (if you have any:rolleyes:) getting hit? THanks for...
Some how they managed to pull it off again. I am hoping OSU wins all of their remaining games, except for the Hawks and Texas loses. That would really shake things up inthe BCS.
I was wondering, how many of you will be able to get out within the next 24-36 hours? I would imagine the critters will move very well after all of this rain. I wish I didn't have to work. Since I do, I hope you have some good encounters. Keep us posted!
I initially had a frustrating time with mine too. Last year everything came together and was shooting well. I use 100 grains (pellets) of 777 and the cheap TC Mag express 240 grain bullets from wally world. Good luck, hope this helps you out.
I had the chance to get out in the woods this morning and I seen buck after buck while driving to the stand site. One had a huge body, but I couldn't see the rack. Had a dandy 10 pointer 10 feet from the truck. Of course, I spooked a bunch of deer going into the timber, but at least I know they...
I have experimented with a few different scents over the years, and hands down the best thing I've used is Buck Fever Synthetics. It is made up in Michigan and is in the process of changing ownership, but the product is supposed to be the same. I have had deer hit mock scrapes with this stuff...
