    Thanksgiving bruiser...

Congratulations to the hunter on an awesome buck. I love to help recover a buck for a friend just as much as recovering one of my own. Way to go!

You Got To See This One!

ya it's carpet, he thought his wife would be pissed so he put down some newspaper to catch the blood. j/k it is some sort of textured linoleum in a walk in cooler. quite a nice setup actually.

how do you pass the time?

like a lot of others - i keep singing the last song that i hear before heading out to the stand, and then i usually catch myself singing it to myself 5000 times. Pure madness.

Back to work..........not really work I guess!

Went back to work this week and somehow found the time to cruise through some of our natural areas looking to see if the big boys were still on the move. Found this guy bedded 25 yds. off of a mowed trail. Went and got the camera and he was still there. He looks like part mule deer to me and...

You Got To See This One!

On Saturday, My brother-in-law and I saw this buck with a doe standing 70 yds. off of a busy road. Thank God the wrong people did not come across him that day along the road. I called my wife after seeing him in that fence and told her that I would give up hunting if I harvested a deer like...

    Double Drop Has Been Dropped

Thanks Coach. I will admit that my heart sank a bit when I heard that a double drop had been taken a quarter mile from my house. But at the same time, I was happy for my neighbor and congratulated him on an awesome buck. I am sure most bowhunters have had these feelings atleast once before. Yes...

    Double Drop Has Been Dropped

I have this buck on my trail camera from late September. He was shot with a bow around Nov. 5th by a neighbor of mine. There was some debate whether or not it is the same buck, but when I compared the harvest picture to the trail cam, it looks to me to be the same buck. I believe he busted a...

Do you wear a face mask???

I use one I bought at the Illinois Deer Classic several years ago. It has one big opening for your eyes, nose, and mouth. Not much to it but they were 3 for $5 so it was worth it in my book. Like a few others have said, I feel naked without it.

C.O. SCORES ON AWESOME 12 PT.

Chad Oester, newly registered as Briarwood Bottoms, scored on this awesome 12 pointer on Nov. 9th at 3:30 P.M. With the gusty winds we had yesterday (30 -40 MPH) this guy snuck in on him to 8 yds. He ended not getting a shot until the buck was 20 yds. out and quartering hard away. Not sure if...

    Trail Cam Success

This is only my second year with a cam, and I am still looking to harvest my first buck that i have on camera. However, Sunday Midday my neighbor shot the double droptine buck in this picture and my avatar. I am going to see it tommorow and will post a picture of him.

Same Buck? If so, this is why we let'em grow.

I think it could be the same buck, but it is really hard to say just from the pictures. Do you have any sheds from this guy from years past? None the less, he has the same genetics - wich supports the argument to let em grow. Nice pictures and thanks for sharing!

    Halloween Harvest

My halloween wish was granted yesterday at around 5:00 when this guy responded to some light rattling combined with some soft grunts and the use of "the can". He was upwind of me the whole time, which was perfect because I had sweated my tail off with a 400+ yard walk into my setup carrying my...

    rain showers

As long as isn't a gully washer, then i like to get out and hunt in the rain. The guys make a good point in helping scent control and the bucks freshening scrapes after it ends. If you do hunt the rain, be on your toes though, cause you are not going to get any help from crunching leaves and...
