I FINALLY GOT HIM........A PICTURE ANYWAY

Sean - after looking at the pictures you guys posted of the sheds i will have to agree with you that this is a different buck. The drops on this buck appear to come straight down where as the sheds it is more like a kicker off the back. I am running around crazy today as Caleb pointed out in the...

    It's too hot.

Northern Illinois here and if the weather man is right, we are looking at lows in the 30's midweek with daytime highs in the sixties. Looking a lot more promising than last week at this time!

    Clothing storage during season

Rubbermaid is the way to go. Throw in some natural scents and you are set. One tip though - buy several so you are not cramming everything in and then the lid wants to blow off down the road. That is how you lose things, Not that i have done that before.

    Nice Non-Typical

This guy did not follow the standard operating procedure for getting his picture taken! Hope he gets it right next time. Looks like a pretty tight rack but he has got plenty of character.....at least on his right side.

    It's too hot.

Northern Illinois here and it is going to be 90 degrees today. I'm hoping mother nature is getting all of this warmth out of the way before October 1. Nothing is worse than a sweaty walk into the stand only to continue to sweat the whole time on the stand. Keep your fingers crossed and hope for...

i need a closer look at him

i believe those are his G-2's. Very similar genetics to the buck i shot last year with the G-3's longer than the 2's. This picture was taken less than 20 yds. from where i shot the one last year. This buck has less mass and is minus the droptine, but his tine length is better. Thanks Nicerack -...

    Nice Eight Point

Ryan - if i had to guess i would say 151 2/8". give or take 10 inches. need another view to get a real good estimate. Regardless, he is a definite shooter and hopefully you will be able to give the exact measurements later on this fall. i think that if you have a shot at him early you should...

i need a closer look at him

thanks Sean - ya, i've had the camera set up in the fenceline north of the house. It's about a 7 iron away from the front door. My problem is I get too damn anxious to check the camera (usually every other day). probably better pictures if I waited atleast a week or two. Day 15 since the...

    Trail Cam Question

Hey Ryan - you gotten any good pictures yet or just the ones of the all to photogenic tree branch? Just wanted to let you know you won't be finding any more sheds of that big old buck across from my house, cause he is going to be on my wall next spring Are you able to make it back to the...

    Nice Young Buck

Hey Sean - Not seeing too much yet, it has been close to 90 degrees the last couple days. This is the biggeset one I have on camera so far but we know that the big boys are out there somewhere, especially the deer that goes to the sheds Ryan has. I know Caleb has been getting some good pictures...

    Nice Young Buck

Ghost - I have it set at 1 min. intervals, the quickest it will re-trigger. What do you set your cameras at? I figure since it is a digital and battery life is good, 1 min. is fine by me. Good Luck this fall.
