    Switchgrass

Re: Switchgrass - possible rust problems I was out at the farm today and noticed that the switch I planted this spring was looking pretty brown. Looking closer at it there looks to be rust spots on the leaves. A Lot of it is totally brown or dead looking and the rest looks to be on its way...

    Hypothetical question... round 2

I would stick to your goal. Last year was the first buck I had shot in 5 years. My wife was due in mid November so I gave up my first season shotgun ( first time in 17 years and hopefully never again) and went early ML. I was lucky enough to get one with my bow in early November. Hunt hard till...

    size for youthhunters

My boy is only 3 but is already crazy about deer. When he is old enough to pull the trigger I don't care what he shoots because I know he will enjoy it. Most kids that i've seen shoot there first, second or tenth deer are always excited about it. I don't care what happens as long as we are...

    Acorn ?

I just threw away all the floaters, never cut any open. Don't think I will have a chance to get any more this year but we'll see. Thanks for the info.

I collected them, soaked them overnight and planted them the next day. All white oaks. We'll see what happens.

    Tried Direct Seeding Acorns

I planted about a 5 gallon bucket full last weekend along the edge of a timber. I just used a spade to make a slit in the ground threw the acorn in and closed it up, kind of curious to see what pops up next year. If I see some progress I will do it again next year.
