It's certainly going to be colder this year than recent years past. I'm up here in SE Minnesota and it's real cold today. I hope it will be a little different this weekend. I too will be hunting in West Central Iowa on Saturday with Ironwood. We will have the hunters that won't be able to sit...
Check out this article and picture of a giant antlered doe shot in central Minnesota. Iowa is still the envy of giant bucks and terrific deer management.

I did see that Bill Jordan did draw a tag when the "winners" were posted for NR tags. I looked up a number of people and not all got tags. Jackie Bushman was also successful.
Good Luck everyone. MN Firearm Season starts tomorrow. I still look forward to coming down to Iowa in another month to...
That is an absolutely beautiful buck! Awesome rack!! I dream of those double drop-tines. 300lbs??? Probably not. Let us know what he scored. I often wonder how difficult (nervous)the shot would be on such a great buck. Again congratulations!
That's great! It sure makes the time go by quickly. Down there you never know what's going to come over the hill next. I hope you get a chance to arrow one. Good Luck and keep me posted.
How big was the buck your dad missed? Can't wait to come down in December and hunt with everyone. Minnesota...

Different brand Sabot shells can all shoot differently. I would get it bore sighted (saves ammo) and then start at 25 yards with a firm rest. Shoot 2-3 shells and let the barrel cool down. You might get a different pattern from each different shell manufacturer. When you have a group from one...
I'm from Minnesota and forked out the $329.00 for a buck tag. I would have taken any tag to get back to Iowa and see all those nice bucks again. I was upset with the cost increase but there really wasn't anything I could do this year. I was suprised to see that there still is more demand for...
I don't go so far as to boil leaves and twigs but I do take good care of all my hunting clothes and try to shower before heading out. I wash my clothes with a scent-free soap, air dry the clothing outside and then store them in a large airtight plastic box. I only put them on after I arrive...
