    Wildflower Planting Question

Dave, I think your on the right track with your weed control regimen just remember you can never get rid of all the weed seeds so everytime you disturb the soil your replanting. I would spray the roundup wait a few days then work the soil and plant. The roundup shouldn't affect your seed cuz it...

    tripod deer stand/bowhunting

Yes, I have two tripods. I think they are underated give it a try. I would like to get one of the lightweight portable versions just find a brushy edge and bury it you wont be 20' in the air but if you watch the wind and your movement you'll be fine use an open pattern camo like Predator or ASAT.

    Tree Planting

I'm kindof computer challenged so I'll start off by telling how we did it and try to post pics at a later date. Direct seeding takes place in the fall, what your doing is what happens in nature just planting seeds. I would try to find someone who does direct seeding one of the keys is proper...

    Tree Planting

Treeman, has your friend considered Direct seeding? We planted 24 acres almost 7 years ago and its turned out to be everything I hoped for and then some. We have Walnuts, Cherry, and Ash close to 15' tall, oak trees over 10 ft tall and the deer have been living in it since the first growing...

    Tree planting auger?

We planted a bunch of berry bushes last fall using a drill during near drought conditions and it worked great. I used a gas drill with either 3" and 5" augers, in the sod and hard clay it was tough going but it did break things up nice. Cant remeber the brand of drill I have but its like the...

Here's another vote for Prairie Moon give them a call tell them all the details, soil type, area, what you want etc etc and they will take care of you. Good people and they're seed is native ecotype which is very important if anything get they're catalog that alone is invaluable. One of the...

    Direct seeding acorns

Letemgrow is correct, the only reason you need to store them wet and cool is if you cant get them in the ground right away after they drop. We stored ours in gunny sacks after letting them soak in a barrel of water for 24hrs then stored in a walk in cooler until planting time. Didnt plant until...
