    Would You Rather......

I will go with bow in late season over standing beans or corn. Seems to depend on the year as to whether they prefer the beans or the corn late.

    Shooting Does with Fawns

Risto, I don't doubt what you read about genetics in a book, but I think it is bunch of BS as it applies to wild deer in Iowa. The book is using research discovered by Mendel. However, those diserable genetics in plants were observable. With does how do you go about judging the genetics that...

    Best Scent Removing Sprays, etc.?!?!?

Scent Killer About 10 years ago I went out after college classes. Upon arriving at my hunting spot, I realized I forgot my rubber hunting boots. Having no other option, I sprayed the shat out of my running shoes with scent killer until I could no longer smell them. That night I had a nice...

    Liberals vs conservatives

That is great!! As a teacher I am afraid most schools are sadly developing more liberals.

    sqwatting

Seems like an easy answer, that you should never sit in someone else's stand but it isn't always that easy. I had a piece of public land I had hunted for 5 years or more. I new the property and the travel patterns of deer/hunters quite well through lots of trail and error. After I finally...

    allah, or jesus?

This discussion reminds me of a funny story... I had to take a Human Relations class to get my masters degree. As part of this class we visited an islamic place of worship and spoke with their holy leader. All of the women in my class were required to to remove their shoes and cover their...

    Discussion

I would say the most important factor is time to hunt. All of the guys I know that seem to score annually have one thing in common and that would be jobs that allow them the time to hunt multiple days in a row during the rut. Unfortunately as a teacher I do not have that luxury. I have to...

    Back-up bow

I had my bow swiped by some dirty thieves at the end of November this year and finished up the year with my old recurve. It wasn't pretty, but is was fun! I managed to harvest a doe but missed several, a backup I could shoot a little better would have been nice!

Nice lookin Bow Tech Guardian in the classifieds

Re: Nice lookin Bow Tech Guardian in the classifie I really liked the 82nd, but the brace height scared me. I hit my wirst the first couple shots I took with it. The general shot nicely.

HELP!!!! SCHOOL SPEECH ON HUNTING RIGHTS

I happen to be a teacher and I did a similiar speech in college. So I believe I can help you. My professor was a anit-hunter, but she was impressed with the information I presented to the class. If you do a good job you will make a lasting impression on some uneducated students that are riding...

    Has anyone...

I've taken a doe at 15 yards with a bow on the way to a stand in the afternoon. I still have nightmares of the time I decided not to take my bow with me on a drive due to thick cover, big mistake, I jumped a 120 class 8 pointer in late december and could only stand there and watch him snort at...

    Jerrys Buck

You guys in Iowa are lucky as hell!! Come to MN and try holding off on anything over 115 inches with a bow and you'll be eating your tag most years. The hunting is ten times better in Iowa. Hopefully one of these years the MN DNR will get a clue and copy the deer seasons you have in place...
